Designed in the 1970s as the Soviet answer to the F-16 and the F/A-18, the MiG-29 entered service in the early 1980s as a compact, twin-engine fighter built for frontline air superiority. Rugged enough to fly from rough and semi-prepared runways, with an excellent thrust-to-weight ratio and superb agility, it became one of the most widely exported Soviet fighters and still serves around the world in modernized variants.

Two Klimov RD-33 afterburning turbofans give 11,100 lbf each dry and 18,300 lbf with afterburner. They push the Fulcrum past Mach 2.2 at altitude, with a spectacular climb and a service ceiling close to 60,000 feet. The price is fuel: the RD-33 is thirsty and the internal tanks are small, so every sortie is a matter of managing your fuel. In return you get a fighter that turns hard, accelerates violently and feels at home in a close fight.

Our MiG-29 is fully native to MSFS 2024 and recreated down to the smallest detail, inside and out, with a Russian cockpit that speaks Russian: the HUD, the tactical display and the radar warning receiver show their real Cyrillic symbology. All 48 liveries are included with the aircraft. Walk around the aircraft, pull the covers, power up the cockpit, light the afterburners and take off for an intercept, a low-level run or a formation flight. Every control has a tooltip that tells you what it does.

Cockpit and Avionics
