Designed in the 1970s as the Soviet answer to the F-15 Eagle, the Su-27 entered service in the mid-1980s and changed what the world thought a heavy fighter could do. A large twin-engine aircraft with a blended wing-body design, built for long range and total dominance in air-to-air combat, it became the foundation of an entire family of Flankers and one of the most influential fighters in aviation history. At airshows it stunned the world with Pugachev's Cobra, pitching up beyond the vertical and dropping back to level flight as if the laws of physics did not apply.

Two Saturn/Lyulka AL-31F turbofans give 16,910 lbf each dry and 27,560 lbf with afterburner. They push the Flanker to Mach 2.35 at altitude and 1,400 km/h at sea level, with a climb rate of 300 m/s, a service ceiling above 60,000 feet and 9,400 kg of internal fuel for very long missions. In the air it is surprisingly agile for its size, at home at high angles of attack and in slow, tight fights where other fighters run out of energy.

Our Su-27 is fully native to MSFS 2024 and recreated down to the smallest detail, inside and out, with a Russian cockpit that speaks Russian: the HUD, the tactical display and the radar warning receiver show their real Cyrillic symbology. Walk around the aircraft, pull the covers, power up the cockpit, light the afterburners and take off for an intercept, a low-level run, a formation flight or a Cobra in front of the crowd. Every control has a tooltip that tells you what it does.
